Classy Sh*t Sip

Budget Brunch with a Bite pt. 2

As I mentioned earlier, one of my favorite ways to save a buck is to skip a pricey restaurant brunch and instead invite friends over to my place.  If everyone brings a piece of the brunch puzzle (booze, bagels, gossip, etc.) you can revel in this glorious Sunday tradition without breaking the bank.

When your contribution is the booze, here’s another one of my favorite morning cocktails:

bloody 1 The Classic Bloody Mary

  • Ice
  • 1.5 ounces vodka (go for the good stuff)
  • 4 ounces tomato-vegetable juice
  • 2 dashes hot sauce (I like Tapatío)
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pinch celery salt
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 1 small pinch smoked paprika
  • Optional garnishes / snacks (my favorite part!)
    • Celery stick
    • Stuffed green olives
    • Lemon wedge
    • Bacon
    • Pickled asparagus, carrots, green beans
    • Baby dills
    • Smoked sausage
    • Pepperoncini

Cheers,

~j
